Disability-Based Denial Appeal
The Disability-Based Denial Appeal process is a means by which applicants, who may not meet the California State University °µÍøÊÓƵ (CSULB) admission requirements due to a disability, but who are "otherwise qualified," may request an appeal for an admissions denial.
Following the Admissions appeal deadline, the BMAC Disability-Based Denial Appeal Committee will meet as a group to review each applicant’s disability-based appeal information on a case-by-case basis. The Committee's function is to evaluate disability documentation using guidelines established by the California State University (CSU) system and determine whether or not the applicant meets minimum standards based on disability. Upon conclusion of this review, the Committee will then forward their recommendation to Enrollment Services for final determination.
Enrollment Services will weigh the committee's recommendations as they relate to the total °µÍøÊÓƵapplicant pool for that term and determine whether or not this new information makes the applicant competitive with other admitted students. If Enrollment Services agrees that an applicant is "otherwise qualified," and all competitive admission standards have been met, both the applicant and the Bob Murphy Access Center will be notified via email regarding the final admission status decision.
In certain circumstances, applicants may be conditionally admitted, where they may be asked to meet outstanding enrollment requirements, by way of a pre-approved course substitution, prior to or subsequent to enrollment to CSULB.
All final Disability-Based Denial Appeal decisions are made by Enrollment Services.
