Dear Graduates,
Commencement is just weeks away!
RSVP and secure your guest tickets NOW! Access the Tassel tile in your ƵSSO to claim your tickets today and ensure your guests have seats at your ceremony!
Please review our Commencement and to be prepared for your ceremony.
ARRIVE EARLY
Parking lots and guest security will open 90 minutes before the ceremony. Parking is free for graduates and guests from gate opening until one hour after the ceremony. Please ensure your guests are seated at least 30 mins BEFORE posted ceremony time so they may see you processing in to your seat.
- Graduate Parking: Pyramid Parking Structure and Lots G6 & G11.
- Guest Parking: Palo Verde Structures (North & South).
- ADA drop-off: available on the ground floor of Palo Verde North.
- Ride-share drop-off/pick up: located in Lot G11 (Pyramid). Ride-share will not be allowed into the lots, so save time and direct your rideshare to the Pyramid lot G11.
* Do NOT park in Brotman Hall or any employee/staff (“E”) lots—these are not free during commencement and are subject to ticketing and towing. Please inform your guests.
WHAT TO EXPECT on ceremony day:
- GRADPASSES: Grads will pick up their Grad Passes at check-in. Please note the updated location: Lot E4 (Employee Parking Lot 4 next to the Pool). DO NOT LOSE THIS PASSas it is your ticket to main stage for name announcement and your name and academic information display on the video displays.
- PROCESSIONAL:
- Grads will proceed from check-in to line-up for the graduate processional line by department. Follow your college staff instructions.
- Beginning promptly at the ceremony start time, graduates will process into the graduate seating and be featured on the digital displays.
- PROGRAM:
- The Platform Party, including university and college officials, will then process out to the main stage and the spoken program will begin.
- Graduates will be notified by an announcement and their Faculty Marshals when to stand and make their way in an orderly fashion to the field to line up to cross the stage.
- STAGE CROSSING:
- Once graduates arrive to the main stage, they will scan their GradPass. Graduates will be handed a diploma cover, please have empty hands on stage. Commencement staff will indicate when and where to stand on the main stage for their name announcement and display on the video display.
- FACE THE AUDIENCE for your moment. You will be captured live in a frame that will include your name, degree and major on the jumbotrons.
- A stage staff member will then escort you off stage where another photographer will capture your photo.
- Staff will direct you to make your way back to your seats.
- CONFERRAL OF DEGREES: Stay seated. Once all grads have crossed, the OFFICIAL CONFERRAL OF DEGREES will be bestowed and turning of the tassels as grads officially are graduated!
GRADUATE RECOGNITION PROGRAM
QR codes will be displayed for graduates and guests to access the digital programs. You can download a digital copy from the the week of the ceremonies.
LIVESTREAM
Ceremony livestreams will be posted on the Commencement website the week of ceremonies.

This is an urgent reminder to log into Tassel before the April 21 deadline.
Access Tassel this weekend to submit your preferred name pronunciation and secure your 10 free guest tickets. This is your opportunity to ensure your name is pronounced correctly and your commencement experience is personalized.
If you do not log into Tassel by April 21, our professional name readers will use the default pronunciation of your name on file, and you will be required to request access to your guest tickets separately.

Key Dates
- March 17: Tassel opens through your ƵSSO.

- April 21 (11:59 p.m.): Tassel closes. Please complete your RSVP early to avoid system congestion. Deadlines cannot be extended due to outages or technical issues.

GradPass Pickup:
Pick up your GradPass (student ceremony ticket) at Grad Check-in (location TBD) 60–90 minutes before your ceremony. You must have this card to cross the stage.

You’re almost at the finish line! This is a friendly reminder that once you have Applied to Graduate, paid your fees, and RSVP’d in Tassel, you are eligible to claim your FREE commencement e-tickets.
🗓️ The Tassel ticketing portal opens March17 to RSVP to your ceremony THEN claim your 10 tickets.
ʦ️ Tassel Ticketing — Next Steps for Graduates
1. Log in to Tassel
Access Tassel using your ƵSSO beginning March 17.
2. Claim Your Tickets
You may claim up to 10 tickets, the maximum allowed by the university.
3. Send Tickets
After claiming your tickets, email them directly to your guests—or send them to yourself for easy distribution.
Please note: Tickets display your name for tracking purposes only and do not affect guest entry.
4. Manage Your Tickets Anytime
You may access and manage your tickets in Tassel up until the day of the ceremony.
ʦ️ Tickets are free and may not be resold.
🎉 For Guests
- 📩 Tickets are sent directly from the graduate via email.
- 📱 Guests are encouraged to save tickets to Apple Wallet or Google Wallet for quick access.
- 🔍 At the venue, guests should present the QR code (on their phone or a printed copy) for entry.
- Once they've been scanned, they cannot be re-scanned/re-used! No venue re-entry.

Tassel is required for Commencement. It allows you to:
- RSVP to your ceremony(ies)
- Review your stage jumbo LED display information (college, major, degree, name)
- Record your name pronunciation
- Receive your 10 guest tickets - 10 per grad.
- Trigger your name announcement + grad info as you cross stage
- Send your guests an email about your ceremony (Friends & Family Commencement Information)
- Send out digital graduation announcement. Physical grad announcements are through the Bookstore.
