NATB Team

Established by a 10-year grant from the California Governor’s Office of Emergency Services, this faculty-led initiative coordinates cutting-edge confidential advocacy services and gender and power-based violence prevention education, engagement and outreach to °µÍøÊÓƵstudents, faculty, and staff.  Our mission at Not Alone @ the Beach (NATB) is to promote confidential support services to the °µÍøÊÓƵcommunity for sexual assault, interpersonal violence, stalking, domestic violence, sexual harassment and exploitation.  We partner with Safer Confidential Advocates who offer crisis intervention and advocacy, individual counseling, accompaniment, referrals to campus and community resources, training and other supportive measures.  Licensed counselors at Counseling & Psychological Services (CAPS) and the °µÍøÊÓƵ Trauma and Recovery Center (LBTRC) are also designated confidential resources and critical members of the NATB team.

Our comprehensive primary prevention approach includes programs identified by the Centers for Disease Control as ‘best practices’ for transforming campus cultures to prevent sexual assaults:  outreach and awareness events, risk reduction strategies, consent education, healthy relationship trainings, gender-transformative approaches that engage men and boys, and curriculum infusion efforts.  We join together with our campus and community partners in taking a holistic approach to sexual violence prevention and a safer, inclusive campus community.
