EOP Summer Bridge Program
All newly admitted EOP first-year and and transfer students are required to participate in the EOP Summer Bridge Program, held each year from July to August. The Summer Bridge Program helps students transition to °µÍøÊÓÆµby offering intentional programming and enrichment activities. Participants learn about campus culture, EOP history, leadership development, financial aid, student resources and more. Summer Bridge is also an opportunity to connect with fellow EOP students and begin building a support network before the academic year begins.

Summer Bridge Options for Incoming Students
Residential Bridge
Date: Sunday, July 12 - Friday, July 16, 2026
Students participating in the Residential Option live on campus on the residence halls throughout the program and engage in a full schedule of activities focused on community-building, academic readiness, and campus engagement.
Transfer Summer Bridge Program (TSBP)
Date: Wednesday, July 29 - Friday, July 31, 2026
The EOP Transfer Summer Bridge Program is a three-day orientation experience designed to support a smooth transition for EOP transfer students. Workshops cover topics such as imposter syndrome, postgraduate preparation, and access to campus programs that build academic and professional skills. Participants also connect with fellow transfer students and peer mentors to help establish their campus network before the semester begins.
Summer Bridge Frequently Asked Questions
Yes. All incoming EOP first-year and transfer students are required to participate in the Summer Bridge Program. EOP Summer Bridge will prepare students to understand the program requirements and promote a successful transition to CSULB. Additionally, students will have an opportunity to network and connect with fellow EOP students and program staff prior to the start of the semester.
Students who participate in SBP Residential will live on-campus in the residence halls (dorms) and will be provided with a double occupancy room. Roommates will be assigned by EOP. Students will have access to the dining hall for breakfast, lunch, and dinner throughout the week.
Yes. All incoming EOP transfer students are required to participate in the Transfer Summer Bridge Program. Currently, we offer an in-person, three-day orientation experience designed to support a smooth transition for EOP transfer students.
No, the Summer Bridge Program is absolutely free of charge. All housing, meals, and parking are provided by EOP.
A student may be excused on a case-by-case basis and at the discretion of the EOP program. A student must have an extenuated circumstance that prevents them from attending the Summer Bridge Program.
