Welcome to The Beach Family!
New Student & Family Programs (NSFP) oversees programs that welcome all new members of the Beach Family. Specifically, our department manages Student Orientation, Advising & Registration (SOAR) which is our university-required new student orientation program for all incoming undergraduate students. Additionally, we provide opportunities for parents and family members to support their students' successful transition to life at The Beach through Parent & Family Programs (PFP). Finally, NSFP offers student-centered programming through First-Year Beach Connections (FYBC) that supports students' acclimation to the demands of college life and helps build a sense of community.
Mission Statement
The mission of New Student & Family Programs (NSFP) is to holistically address the needs of students, as well as our students’ family members and supporters. NSFP and its related programs – SOAR, Parent & Family Programs, and First-Year Beach Connections – are designed and implemented to offer a comprehensive student and parent experience that introduce academic, social, professional and developmental resources to facilitate the success of students. We focus on innovative collaborations with the campus community, providing highly valued experiences, and offering inclusive, welcoming, and engaging programming that foster a sense of belonging and a connection to the university.
