Research

CITT is a hub for transportation research in the greater Los Angeles region, hosting six major research centers and conducting policy analysis in trade, transportation, and workforce development.

Research Centers

METRANS Transportation Consortium
A partnership of more than two decades between °µÍøÊÓÆµand the University of Southern California, METRANS conducts research on urban goods movement, port operations, and regional transportation systems.

Pacific Southwest Region University Transportation Center (PSR)
Funded by the U.S. Department of Transportation, PSR covers California, Arizona, Nevada, Hawaii, and Pacific Island territories, advancing research on sustainable and equitable transportation.

National Center for Sustainable Transportation (NCST)
Led by the University of California, Davis, NCST advances research, policy, and technology to achieve a sustainable transportation system. CITT serves as a °µÍøÊÓÆµpartner institution.

Southwest Transportation Workforce Center (SWTWC)
A CSULB-led Federal Highway Administration regional center of excellence focused on transportation workforce development, education, and training.

California Local Technical Assistance Program (LTAP) Center
Administered by CITT under the direction of Caltrans’ Division of Local Assistance, providing training and technical resources to local transportation agencies statewide.

California Supply Chain Success Initiative
A collaborative initiative addressing systemic challenges in California’s supply chain infrastructure, focused on coordination across ports, rail, trucking, and distribution networks.
