Freshmen Admissions Requirements

Please note: Since education systems and schools vary by country, your grades and scores from your particular school may not necessarily reflect the evaluated grades for admissions eligibility at CSULB.

Freshmen

Students who have not completed any coursework at a college or university after high school graduation are considered First Time Freshmen (First-Time First Year). See below for °µÍøÊÓÆµadmission criteria for Freshmen.

Minimum GPA for all majors: 3.0, or a "B" grade according to the °µÍøÊÓÆµGPA scale.

All first-year student applicants must:

  1. File a °µÍøÊÓÆµapplication through  by the deadline
  2. Have earned a minimum cumulative 3.0 GPA or "B'" grade according to the °µÍøÊÓÆµGPA scale.
  3. Fulfill CSULB's English Language Requirement
  4. Have completed at least 1 year of high school mathematics. Applicants to STEM majors must have at least 3 years of high school mathematics.

*Starting Fall 2025 CBSE credits will be accepted at CSU °µÍøÊÓÆµ.

  3. Complete the ("A-G" courses).
  4. Fulfill CSULB's English Language Requirement.

All first-year student applicants must:

  1. File a °µÍøÊÓÆµapplication through  by the deadline
  2. Have earned a minimum cumulative 3.0 GPA or "B'" grade according to the °µÍøÊÓÆµGPA scale.
  3. Provide scores for at least 5 subjects completed. In addition, please provide scores for at least 2 "A/AS" subjects completed.
  4. Fulfill CSULB's English Language Requirement
  5. Have completed at least 1 year of high school mathematics. Applicants to STEM majors must have at least 3 years of high school mathematics.

Eligible applicants will be admitted based on the faculty evaluation of an audition. Auditions are mandatory. Contact the Dance department or for details.
