Guidelines

  • Guaranteed attendance:  Order confirmation is a binding agreement.
  • Orders: Orders must be submitted 5 business days prior to pickup or delivery date.
  • Cancellations:  Cancellations within seven business days of the event will be charged 50% of the total order. Cancellations within 24 hours of the event will be charged 100%.
  • Dispenser charge:  A fee will be charged for any reusable dispenser not returned or returned damaged after the event.
  • Service charge & sales tax:  A 15% service charge and applicable sales tax will be added to all food and beverage items for private events at Outpost Grill.
  • Food safety:  Please plan to consume all food within four hours of pickup or delivery to ensure safety and quality.
  • Hot holding equipment:  If your event is longer than four hours, you may need to provide your own hot holding equipment (e.g., chafing dishes) to maintain proper food temperature.
  • Serving space:  If your event includes a catering attendant, please ensure a designated space is prepared in advance for food setup.

  • Bar service: Beer and wine bars can be provided for your event. A general guideline is one bar station for every 75 guests. A bartender will be provided for each function. Bar setup is $150 per bar, and bartending services start at $50 per hour. Payment in full for bar-service-only events is required five business days in advance for non-university clients.
  • Alcohol policy: Due to the highly restrictive California State University, °µÍøÊÓƵ (CSULB) policies on alcohol service on campus, all catering clients must adhere to °µÍøÊÓƵguidelines to serve alcoholic beverages at campus events. The bar may remain open for a maximum of four hours. A nonalcoholic beverage must be served at all times during bar service. A Beer and Wine Clearance Form is required to have alcohol or bar service on campus.
    • Alcoholic beverage donations: Donated alcoholic beverages may only be accepted from licensed manufacturers or distributors and must be received by Forty-Niner Shops, doing business as Beach Shops. The service of donated alcoholic beverages must be conducted exclusively by university-approved caterers. Exceptions to this policy may be granted only by the general manager of Beach Shops or their designee.

A corkage fee will apply to any wine or bottled beer brought to an approved event.

    • Alcohol sales and permits: Alcoholic beverages may be sold or served only under a valid permit issued by the Department of Alcoholic Beverage Control to Beach Shops and to caterers approved by °µÍøÊÓƵProcurement Services.

For more information, visit the Food Service (Hospitality) page.

  • Leftover food: We do not provide individual to-go containers for leftover food unless requested before order confirmation and purchased for an additional fee. We encourage guests to contact the Laurén Chalmers '83 Beach Pantry at 562-985-5264 to coordinate leftover food donation in the event of excess food.
  • Linen services: Linen services are not provided.

  • Campus department charges: A chartfield (CFS) account must be provided to confirm the reservation. Invoices are sent via campus mail.
  • Payment due date: Payment is due within 30 days.
  • All other payment forms must be arranged before the event day.

All non-university groups must submit full payment five business days in advance.
