Kaniehtiio Horn is a Mohawk Canadian actress, director, and activist who will be screening her film Seeds. “Seed keeping as language growing: land, language, and indigenous representation in pop culture.”

This cooking workshop empowers participants to prepare healthy, delicious meals, understand nutritional values, and gain practical cooking skills for a balanced diet.

Participants will create eco-friendly graduation decorations and learn about sustainable practices to celebrate responsibly.

Popular culture—broadly conceived as the widely-accessible literature, films, television shows, video games, music, visual arts, and discourse on social media platforms that we spend so much time “consuming”—has long had a tricky relationship with the environment, sustainability, and climate change.

Students will learn about waste management, including landfill reduction, composting, and recycling, through interactive events and partnerships, inspiring practical sustainability practices.
