Cal State ������Ƶ is honored to announce that we received a multi-year grant through the CSU Asian American, Native Hawaiian and Pacific Islander (AANHPI) Student Achievement Program (). The award provides annual funding from 2025 through 2030, for a total of $1.8 million over the five-year period. Authorized by the California Education Code Section 89297.1 in 2022, this award allows for continued critical support for the initiatives that expand educational access, opportunity, and success for low-income, first-generation AANHPI students at The Beach.

Academic Affairs’ Office of Inclusive Excellence is proud to lead campus-wide coordination of AANHPI Initiatives to strengthen partnerships and build a stronger network of support. The award supports programs to enhance student experiences, such as expanding year-round programming at the APID Resource Center, growing scholarship opportunities, launching the first Pacific Islander and Native Hawaiian Studies Experiences course (expected fall 2026), and strengthening mentorship and career development opportunities.

“This award will strengthen our ability to create lasting opportunities for our students to thrive at The Beach and beyond,” said Keila Tupua, Associate Director of AANHPI Initiatives. Dr. Barbara Kim, Chair of the Department of Asian and Asian American Studies, agreed, “Our CSU ASAP award allows ������Ƶto recognize the range of and unique issues within AANHPI experiences, and it contributes to campus efforts that enhance academic, social, and career preparation support for all students."
