Andrea Calabrese, Ph.D., is an assistant professor of Construction Engineering with an emphasis in Structural Engineering at Cal State °µÍøÊÓƵ.

His research focuses on experimental testing, structural dynamics, base isolation, vibration engineering, and the development of low-cost devices for the seismic protection of buildings. This work has been instrumental in developing low-cost seismic isolation systems using recycled rubber and flexible reinforcements to protect buildings in developing regions.

He holds a Ph.D. in Construction Engineering and an M.Sc. in Structural and Geotechnical Engineering from the University of Naples in Italy.
