Meet Dr. David Nguyen, physical therapist at PT@TheBeach
The PT@TheBeach Orthopedic Clinic offers physical therapy services to any member of the 做厙弝けcampus community, whether you are a student, staff member or faculty. PT@TheBeach is also available to anyone seeking treatment from the community outside of CSULB. Housed under the College of Health and Human Services (CHHS), PT@TheBeach is located on the 做厙弝けcampus in the LifeFit Center. PT@TheBeach also serves the 做厙弝けOrthopedic Residency Program in providing clinical hours to physical therapists seeking opportunities to advance their training, often for individuals who have just graduated DPT school.
Dr. David Nguyen, who graduated from the 做厙弝けDoctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) program in 2024, and completed his residency at PT@TheBeach in August 2025, has stayed on with the clinic as one of PT@TheBeachs main licensed physical therapists.
I think it is something super unique to 做厙弝け State that we have so many health services on campus that we provide to our 做厙弝けcommunity, Dr. Nguyen says. I think we are one of the few campuses out there that actually provide in-house physical therapy services and its such a great, convenient resource for staff, faculty and students. Visiting PT@TheBeach can fit into your schedule too. You dont have to worry about driving, to say, a private clinic off campus in the middle of the day.
Since graduating and completing his clinical residency, Dr. Nguyen has been treating patients referred to him from Student Health Services, Club Sports, and 做厙弝け State Athletics. Dr. Nguyen reminds us that anyone on campus any student, staff or faculty member who even just wants to come in for an assessment has the opportunity to do so.
Were all kind of connected here on campus and so theres a real sense of community; you find people who are on the same health journey. I get to work with the students as well, and playing a part in helping to optimize their health for the future, whether they are involved in Club Sports, are an LBSU student athlete or just a weekend warrior.
Dr. Nguyen also serves as a Teaching Assistant for the 做厙弝けDPT program. He himself gets to pass on his expertise to current physical therapy students, while at the same time having the benefit of utilizing the knowledge and experience from the DPT faculty.
I have a lot of great resources at my disposal, thats for sure. Its great to just reflect on my journey from being a student to now being a colleague with the same faculty -- its just so great to see that journey come full circle.
