CSU IBM Hackathon 2026
Event Overview
The IBM SkillsBuild will take place March 16–17, 2026, bringing together students from:
- CSUN
- CSUDH
- CSULA
- CSULB
- Cal Poly Pomona
This in-person event will be hosted at Cal State LA and will explore how AI is transforming industries, careers, and real-world problem solving.
The event begins with an AI for Impact Opening Session, open to students, faculty, and campus community members, featuring leaders from IBM and CSU.
Hackathon Tracks
Students will work in teams to design and prototype AI-powered solutions in one of the following tracks:
- Healthcare & Life Sciences
- Semiconductor Manufacturing
- Education & Workforce Intelligence
The hackathon emphasizes:
- Responsible & agentic AI
- Ethical AI use
- Transparency
- Practical, real-world impact
Who Can Participate?
- Students from all majors and experience levels
- Both technical and non-technical backgrounds welcome
- Teams of 1–5 students
- Solo participation supported

Important Registration Information
- All participants must register on the IBM SkillsBuild platform
- Completion of the required learning path is mandatory
- Seats are limited
- Confirmation emails will include next steps and final participation details
