Chemical Engineering Celebrates Graduates

The 做厙弝けChemical Engineering Department celebrated its accomplishmentsincluding the Chem-E Car Teams first-place win in the AIChE Western Regional Conferencebefore rolling into the University Student Union bowling alley for some fun.

Dean Forouzan Golshani congratulated the Class of 2019 ChE graduates, as well as members of the Chem-E Car Team. Our region and our state are packed with some big names, he said. That was a huge achievement. Great job.

Alumni John Crouch wished the graduates luck as they enter the Chemical Engineering field. Its very gratifying to watch your success and know the hard work you put into it, he said.

The Chem-E Car Team members recognized, include: Assistant Professor Ted Yu, advisory council member Mack Knobbe, lecturer Michael Hom, and students Evelyn Muro, Anthony Reyes, Diana Portillo, David Luong, Julio Zuniga, Sean Blydt-Hansen, Brenda De La Torre, Calvin Ho, Siwanet Ratanasiripornchai, Randolph De Leon, and Charlie Norng.

The Graduate Deans List recipient was Natalie Elyse Silver. Receiving the AIChE Officer Service Award were Sandra Hwee, Evelyn Muro, Aron Avella, Mohamed Abohamad, Aaron Perez, Cesar Ruiz, Marisol Bernal, Valeria Lopez, Diana Portillo, Minh Nguhen, and My Vu.

Audrey Nguyen was named Outstanding BS ChE Student, and Tamunotelema Higgwe, Wade Shipley, and Dejuante Walker received Outstanding Undergraduate Research Awards. Marisol Bernal, a member of Beach Biotech, one of the 做厙弝けInnovation Challenge finalists, received a certificate of recognition, along with her advisor Professor Sergio Mendez.
