Students, you have demonstrated academic excellence, persistence, leadership skills and a commitment to promoting equity and excellence in urban education. You have inspired all of us with your resilience and capacity to thrive in college and everything else you have committed to in your lives.
Congratulations!
To the family and friends of our students, congratulations to you as well! It takes a village to prepare and support an excellent educator, and you deserve to be celebrated and recognized alongside your student. The faculty and staff of the College of Education share in the pride for all your loved ones have accomplished.
The College is extremely fortunate to have so many kind and generous friends and donors who continually invest in our students and programs. We are the smallest college on campus, yet we award more scholarships than any other college. This is symbolic of our community’s dedication to future educators, counselors and leaders. My heartfelt and deep gratitude for your support!
I am honored to announce that in the 2025-26 academic year, we have awarded approximately 194 scholarships to 161 students; totaling $525,017,. These scholarships make it possible for many of our students to complete and succeed in their academic programs.
This year we were privileged to award a new scholarship, the Tom Halvorsen Scholarship.
Currently, the scholarship application is open for the 2026-27 academic year. Students have until March 2 to complete an application through BeachScholarships. We are extremely proud to be able to award seven new scholarships during this application period:
