McCollum is an award-winning choreographer, movement director, and intimacy professional whose career has placed him at the center of some of Broadway's most celebrated productions. Born and raised in Southern California, McCollum was named a finalist in the Los Angeles Music Center's prestigious Spotlight Awards at age 18. He has since built a remarkable body of work spanning Broadway, television, film, and opera.
McCollum served as choreographer for The Band's Visit — recipient of 10 Tony Awards — and as movement associate for the Tony Award-winning revival of Angels in America. He also contributed to Rocky on Broadway as associate fight choreographer and served as North American dance supervisor for Wicked. His television credits include choreography for Saturday Night Live and movement direction for the Today show, the latter of which earned a Daytime Emmy Award.
McCollum has also brought his artistry to the concert stage, choreographing The Tempest with the LA Phil and The Old Globe at Walt Disney Concert Hall, and collaborating with choreographer Steven Hoggett on Peter and the Starcatcher, The Last Ship, and Angels in America.
