Kubo is a purpose-driven nonprofit financial leader whose decade-plus career reflects an unwavering commitment to equity, access and community empowerment. As assistant controller at Neighborhood Defender Services, a nationally recognized public defender office providing holistic legal services across three U.S. cities, he ensures the financial sustainability and operational integrity that allow the organization to serve thousands of clients annually across immigration, eviction defense and beyond. His commitment to community extends well beyond his professional role. As treasurer on the Board of Directors for Meals on Wheels Contra Costa, he helps sustain a program that delivers warm, nutritious meals to homebound seniors, a cause made personal by a grandmother whose own legacy of service inspired his path. Kubo also serves on the board of San Francisco Aid for Animals, where he supports programs that bridge funding gaps for emergency veterinary care for low-income pet owners, keeping families whole during moments of crisis.
