Celebrate CSULB’s 75th Anniversary with Service: 2025 MLK Day of Service
Join CSU °µÍøÊÓƵ in partnership with Leadership °µÍøÊÓƵ for the 2025 MLK Day of Service Monday, January 20, 2025, as we honor Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.’s legacy through service and community action.
As part of our 75th Anniversary celebration, this day is a chance to show the power of The Beach in making a difference in the °µÍøÊÓƵ community. We will be supporting three different volunteer opportunities. Choose a volunteer opportunity that speaks to you and sign up to participate.
Start the day with us and connect with fellow Beach volunteers at the Volunteer Check-in & FREE Pancake Breakfast, hosted by the °µÍøÊÓƵ Fire Department at °µÍøÊÓƵ City College. Interested staff should discuss their participation with their appropriate administrator.

As part of the MLK Day of Service on January 20, volunteers will be prompted to bring shelf-stable food items to their designated service project. Volunteers with The Volunteer Center - °µÍøÊÓƵ will engage in one of two key activities:
1. Donation Collection: Drive to various registered service sites to collect food donations and deliver them to The Volunteer Center.
2. Donation Processing: Serve at The Volunteer Center by weighing, logging, and stocking the collected items.
Your participation helps ensure these donations are organized and ready to make a meaningful impact in our community.

This opportunity is hosted with Beautify Pine in partnership with Downtown °µÍøÊÓƵ Alliance and focuses on revitalizing the Pine Avenue area. Volunteers will fill and restore community planters with sustainable plants, as well as clean up the streets to improve the environment for residents and visitors.

This opportunity is hosted with °µÍøÊÓƵ Community Compost in °µÍøÊÓƵ. Volunteers will assist in various composting activities, learning valuable skills while contributing to a greener °µÍøÊÓƵ.
